Rep. Nunn announced the funding this afternoon at the active construction site at Boston Parkway and Alice’s Road, joined by local elected officials, the project engineers at Snyder & Associates, and regional planning partners from the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (DMAMPO). “Dallas County is the fastest-growing county in Iowa, and Alice’s Road is how families, workers, and trucks move between Clive, Waukee, and Urbandale every day,” said Rep. Nunn . “This investment rebuilds the final stretch of roadway into a four-lane road with safer turns, a new roundabout, and space for kids to bike and walk without stepping into traffic. When a community grows this fast, its roads have to grow with it, and this is how we make room for the new homes, businesses, and jobs already on the way.” Rep. Nunn secured the funding through the FY2026 Community Project Funding (CPF) process. As the grant recipient, the City of Clive will administer the dollars to advance this phase of the long-planned corridor. This phase rebuilds the segment as a four-lane divided roadway designed to carry the growth around it. Wider, divided lanes and a new roundabout will ease congestion and improve safety on a stretch that was never built for the traffic it now carries, while a shared-use path and sidewalk give families a safe way to walk and bike the corridor. For businesses across the western metro, it means a route that keeps customers, workers, and goods moving. The $1 million federal award supports a roughly $7 million phase, joining about $4.16 million from the City of Clive and $1.85 million in regional transportation funds. Construction on this segment is expected to follow in 2027. State and local leaders welcomed the investment. “Major infrastructure projects like the Alice’s Road reconstruction require strong partnerships. We’re proud to collaborate with Congressman Nunn, the City of Waukee, and our team of contractors to improve this important corridor. We’re especially grateful for the Congressman’s work securing $1 million in federal Community Project funding.
