January 28, 2025 Press Release Washington, DC — Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) released the following statement: “Trump’s order to indiscriminately freeze federal aid and grants is illegal, willfully ignorant, and cruel. Federal funding that provides essential assistance, like helping families heat their homes, keeping health care centers open, ensuring our kids are fed, and housing the vulnerable is now in jeopardy. "As this was clearly another one of Trump’s impulsive actions that neglects the well-being of everyday Americans, there is still a lot of uncertainty.
