Congressman Tim Moore Votes to Fund the Military and Recognize the Lumbee Tribe in FY26 National Defense Authorization Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, Congressman Tim Moore voted to pass the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), annual bipartisan legislation that sets military policy and authorizes funding for the Department of War (DoW) and other national security programs.
Importantly, it delivers a major win for North Carolina by including one of Congressman Moore’s top priorities, the Lumbee Fairness Act , which grants full federal recognition to the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.
“For far too long, the Lumbee people have been denied the full recognition and resources they deserve,” said Congressman Moore . “This bill finally delivers justice to the Lumbee, while strengthening our military and ensuring the United States remains the most powerful force for freedom in the world.”
This year’s NDAA advances President Trump’s Peace Through Strength agenda by investing in our men and women in uniform, revitalizing America’s defense industrial base, and securing our homeland against growing threats.
