Gluesenkamp Perez Announces 2025 Congressional Art Competition Winner

<p>Today, <a href="http://gluesenkampperez.house.gov/">Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03)</a> announced Mia Johnson of Kelso High School as the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition.</p>

<p>Mia’s colored pencil and watercolor piece, “Peachy Keen,” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year and on the <a href="https://www.congressionalinstitute.org/congressional-art-competition/">Congressional Art Competition</a> website.</p>

<p>In Second Place was Nate Anderson from the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics. Tori Rehwaldt from Skyview High School took home Third Place. Both were oil paintings.</p>

<p><em>“Mia’s artwork captures the importance of joy and connection – and celebrates our community’s love for local fresh fruit and agriculture,” </em><strong>said Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez. </strong><em>“Congrats to Mia for her winning piece, as well as to all the other talented young artists across Southwest Washington who contributed to the competition.”</em></p>
