Senator Hassan Votes to Confirm Governor Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) issued the following statement today after voting to confirm Governor Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security:
“In our conversations throughout the confirmation process, Governor Noem hasdemonstrated to methat she’s willing to work together to tackle the important challenges facing our country, including strengthening border security and protecting our communities from the spread of illicit fentanyl. Of course, there are policy areas where we disagree, but we do agree that there is no more important task of government than keeping people safe. I believe that she has the qualifications necessary to be our next Secretary of Homeland Security, and I look forward to partnering with her in the future.”
