Congressman Maxwell Frost on Supreme Court Ruling: “Our Constitution Is Not Up for Debate”

June 30, 2026 Congressman Maxwell Frost on Supreme Court Ruling: “Our Constitution Is Not Up for Debate” WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) released the following statement after the Supreme Court rejected efforts by the Trump Administration to undermine birthright citizenship guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. In a statement, Rep. Frost says: "Our constitution is not up for debate. Today, the Supreme Court affirmed what the Fourteenth Amendment has guaranteed for generations: if you are born in the United States, you are a citizen of the United States. “Birthright citizenship has been settled law for more than 150 years. It's a guarantee rooted in equal protection, not politics. Attempts to narrow or erase that guarantee were never about constitutional principle, they were about deciding who belongs in America. “Every child born here deserves the same recognition under the law, regardless of their parents' background or where their family came from. That's what the Fourteenth Amendment protects, and that's what the Court upheld. “This decision doesn't end the effort to roll back fundamental rights. It does, however, make clear that presidents cannot discard constitutional protections they disagree with. That's how our system of government works. “We'll keep fighting for an America where everyone is treated equally under the law and where our rights are protected, not selectively applied." ### Print Email Share Tweet
