“A Historic Win for the American People” WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Vern Buchanan, Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and member of the Trade Subcommittee , released the following statement following the announcements of historic trade deals between the United States and Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia: “President Trump has once again delivered a historic win for the American people with new trade deals that strengthen our ties with Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia. These deals will create hundreds of thousands of jobs, bring over $500 billion in investment to the U.S. and open markets for American-made goods, especially in agriculture, technology and manufacturing. “By securing lowered tariffs on American exports while holding foreign imports accountable, President Trump is putting American workers and businesses first.
