Telephone Town Hall Wednesday on Medicare Open Enrollment
December 2, 2025 E-Newsletter My Medicare open enrollment telephone town hall will be held this Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. If you’ve already signed up to be called, you’ll stay on the list. If you haven’t signed up to be called but would like to join, just call 888-480-3686 at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Medicare open enrollment for 2026 has begun and will run through this Sunday, Dec. 7. You can also find impartial help through the commonwealth’s PA MEDI program . Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)/Pennie open enrollment I also want to remind everyone that open enrollment has begun for Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) coverage for 2026 . Dec. 15, 2025, is the deadline to enroll in coverage that begins Jan. 1. Pennsylvanians enroll through Pennie, the commonwealth’s ACA exchange . And I want to let you know that I and my House Democratic colleagues are continuing to push for an extension of the ACA tax credits that make coverage more affordable for millions of Americans. I proudly signed a discharge petition that would force a House vote on a three-year extension of these tax credits . This is the same procedure that successfully forced a vote a few weeks ago on releasing the Epstein files. Earlier this year, the Republican majorities in Congress rushed to pass tax cuts for the richest. The health-insurance tax credits expire at the end of this month, and I believe they should be a higher priority in Congress than those tax cuts for the richest. While I’m happy that the federal government has reopened and that workers are being paid after a record six-week shutdown, I recently voted No on the Republican funding bill because it did not address what I consider to be the other shutdown Americans are facing – the massive cost spike in health-insurance premiums for 24 million Americans , caused by the looming expiration of the ACA tax credits. This would effectively shut many of them out of health coverage. I will keep pressing for an end to the health-care shutdown and a focus on actions that would make a real difference on affordability – as far as I’m concerned, this fight is not over!
