Connecticut Delegation Announces Over $8.7 Million in Federal Funding for Two Connecticut Airports
Image June 27, 2025 Press Release Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut Congressional delegation announced that Bradley International Airport and Danbury Municipal Airport have received over $8.5 million in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation. “More than $8.7 million of federal investment for Connecticut’s airports will deliver important infrastructure upgrades at Bradley International Airport and Danbury Municipal Airport. Bradley is receiving additional federal funds for a much-needed terminal expansion – greatly improving the passenger experience and satisfying safety standards,” the delegation said in a statement. “We’re proud to have secured this funding for our state and will continue to fight for the federal resources needed to upgrade and elevate Connecticut’s infrastructure.” Bradley International Airport will receive a $8,537,126 grant to expand the existing Terminal A by 25,230 square feet. The expansion will facilitate the movement of passengers and baggage to bring the airport into conformity with current standards. Bradley International Airport has also previously received over $30 million in federal funding for this project from the Federal Aviation Administration.
