February 06, 2025 Representative Auchincloss' Statement on President Trump's Vow to Dismantle the Department of Education Congressman Jake Auchincloss (MA-04) issued the following statement on President Trump's vow to eliminate the Department of Education: “President Trump’s vow to dismantle the Department of Education would hurt low-income students and families who rely upon federal funding for public schools. It would also make educators' jobs harder at a time when burnout is already far too high. This is only the most recent threat in the Trump Administration’s relentless attacks on federal agencies authorized and appropriated by Congress.
