Olszewski Issues Statement on Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Deal

January 15, 2025 Press Release (Washington, DC) —  Congressman Johnny Olszewski today issued the following statement on the proposed ceasefire deal to end the 15-month violence in Gaza: "I am optimistic the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal announced today will be a first step toward lasting peace in Gaza and thank President Biden and all those who played a role in reaching this historic break-through. We should not rest easy until every hostage is released safely. Moving forward, we must do all we can to sustain an end to the violence that has already cost too many civilian lives and unimaginable suffering. I remain steadfastly committed to our ally, Israel, in its fight against terrorism and continue to support American assistance to rebuild the devastated region and help displaced Palestinians."
