December 2, 2025 Press Release DeLauro Issues Statement on Secretary Hegseth’s Order to Kill Caribbean Boat Crew WASHINGTON —Today, US Representative Rosa DeLauro issued the following statement regarding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s reported order to kill the entire crew of a vessel suspected to be carrying narcotics in the Caribbean Sea: “The Washington Post’s reporting on Secretary Hegseth’s personal order to kill all survivors of a U.S. airstrike on a boat in the Caribbean is of grave concern. If accurate, this is nothing less than a war crime. Shipwrecked airstrike survivors are not a credible threat, and killing them in cold blood is a moral stain on our nation.
