Breaking: Congresswoman Emily Randall’s Statement on the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

August 7, 2025 Press Release (Bremerton, WA) - What's happening in Gaza right now breaks my heart and goes against everything we stand for as Americans. The United Nations has reported that more than 500,000 Palestinians are living in famine-like conditions, over 1,000 have been killed since May while attempting to access aid, and children are dying every day from malnutrition — all the while, hostages remain captive, and their families live in agonizing uncertainty. Schools, homes, hospitals, and places of worship have been reduced to rubble. Civilians — many of them children and infants — have been killed. Doctors, journalists, aid workers, and entire families have been lost. This is an unconscionable humanitarian crisis. The Oct. 7 attack shattered countless lives, and the aftermath has brought unimaginable pain and destruction, marking the start of one of the most devastating wars in modern history. Enough is enough. It's time to end this war — to lay down every weapon, bring home every hostage, end the blockade, treat the wounded, protect all civilians, and feed every child in Gaza. My neighbors didn't send me here to watch children, health care workers, and teachers be the sacrifice of war. I refuse to accept the false choice between supporting Israel's security and opposing the starvation of children. Despite inheriting a ceasefire, both Netanyahu's government and the Trump Administration have overseen a worsening humanitarian catastrophe. As a member of Congress, I will continue to use my oversight authority and leverage to work towards lasting and sustainable peace for all Palestinians and Israelis, and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most now, because every child deserves to grow up safe, healthy, and fed." ### Issues : Congress
