DelBene on Trump’s Latest Tariff Scheme: ‘Illegitimate Use of the Law’

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the following statement on President Trump’s promise to impose Section 122 tariffs after his loss at the Supreme Court: “Trump is already trying to go around the Supreme Court decision striking down his illegal tariffs. He is trying to issue a new set of tariffs that will raise costs on millions of American manufacturers, farmers, and families — without a vote in Congress. “His remarks earlier are completely inconsistent with Section 122. I will continue to oppose this illegitimate use of the law. “It is clear that Congress cannot continue to sit on the sidelines and must rein in Trump’s destructive trade policy. I hope my Republican colleagues find the courage to oppose these new tariffs.”
