Thompson, Lou Correa to Host 7/7 Press Conference on the need to open Gordie Howe Bridge, Town Hall on Trump’s Attacks on Voting Rights Detroit, MI - Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) along with Congressmen Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, and Lou Correa (CA-46) will host a site visit in Detroit, Michigan which will include a press conference urging Trump to open the new Gordie Howe Bridge, a bridge that President Trump has unilaterally kept closed, despite it being ready to open and operate today. Opening the bridge as a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Port of Entry will facilitate efficient travel and trade between the U.S.A and Canada and improve the economies of both nations. Afterward, Congressmen Thanedar, Thompson, and Correa will host a panel town hall to discuss how to combat Trump’s attack on the voting rights of the American people.
