Congressman DeSaulnier Hosts Virtual Education Town Hall

May 14, 2025 Press Release Walnut Creek, CA – Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10), a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee, announced he will host a virtual Education Town Hall on Wednesday, May 28 th at 4:00 p.m. This town hall comes in the wake of President Trump’s Executive Order attempting to dismantle the Department of Education, which administers the federal student loan program and funds resources for students with disabilities, among other important priorities. To discuss how the Trump Administration’s recent actions will impact students around the country and in CA-10, Congressman DeSaulnier will be joined by Lynn Mackey, Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools, and Allegra Fischer, Senior Policy Attorney at Disability Rights California. The Congressman and panelists will also take questions live.
