Vindman Statement on FBI Arrest of Resident in the Seventh District, Suspect in January 6 Pipe Bomb Case
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) released the following statement following reports that a resident of Virginia’s Seventh District is now in federal custody after a nearly five-year investigation into who planted pipe bombs blocks from the U.S. Capitol on January 5, 2021. “Earlier today, I was informed that a resident of Virginia’s Seventh District has been arrested for placing pipe bombs near the Democratic and Republican national committees in Washington, D.C., ahead of the January 6 th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. “I am grateful to the law enforcement professionals at the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their hard work and diligence in this years-long effort to identify and apprehend this individual. “While every American is entitled to due process, political violence has no place in our country. I unequivocally condemn this attempted attack and am thankful no one was harmed.” ###
