Barr: Trump will clean up DC, just like the Border

Washington, D.C.— Today, President Donald Trump announced he would invoke Section 740 of the Home Rule Act and placing the Metropolitan Police Department under federal control. He also announced the deployment of National Guard troops to DC to restore order. Following this announcement, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY) released the following statement: “Just like he cleaned up the border, President Trump will clean up DC. Our capital is overrun with crime, corruption, and homelessness. The chaos in DC impacted my team directly when a Kentuckian serving in my office was robbed at gun point in broad daylight. We can and must do better. The President has my full support.” ###
