Federal Funding Championed by Ciscomani to Transform Busy Marana Intersection

This funding would aid the flow of traffic and public safety by improving efficiency of the town’s infrastructure.' Marana, AZ - U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani today met with Marana Mayor Jon Post and other town leaders to discuss $3 million in federal funding he has preliminarily secured for a project to improve an interchange that is often backed up with traffic. This funding will be used to smooth the flow of traffic getting on or off Interstate 10 at exit 236, one of the primary entry points into one of the fastest growing towns in the 6th Congressional District. The project also calls for two additional lanes to be created under the interstate, combining the on and off ramps with the frontage roads and extending Tangerine Farms Road to connect with the interchange. The $3 million preliminarily secured for Marana’s traffic interchange improvements is part of 20 Community Project Funding requests totaling $42.7 million that Ciscomani has advocated for in this year’s House appropriations bills to ensure communities across Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District have the resources they need to thrive. This funding is included in the Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill, which Ciscomani voted to advance out of the Appropriations committee. Funding for Marana’s Traffic Interchange builds on the $70,000 Rep. Ciscomani secured in FY2024 for a 3D scanner for crime scene documentation for the Marana Police Department, and the $4 million he secured in FY2026 for source water system improvements at Marana Regional Airport and PFAS Treatment at the Pioneer Well.
