Congresswoman Gwen Moore Votes to Remove Senate Republican Slush Fund Measure Today, Congresswoman Moore voted to strip out a corrupt provision included in the government funding bill that allowed certain Senate Republicans whose phone records were obtained as part of January 6 th investigations to sue for up to $1 million. “While millions of Americans health care costs will soon skyrocket, Senate Republicans involved in January 6 th investigations sought to use taxpayer funds to get richer. Instead of serving their constituents, they prioritized enriching themselves. Even House Republicans opposed this provision, and I am glad it received bipartisan support today. I am calling on Senate Majority Leader Thune to secure a vote in the Senate to help end this corrupt slush fund.”
