<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>1. H.Con.Res. 12 – Supporting the Local Radio Freedom Act</strong>, sponsored by Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR)<br />
– This bill would express a sense of Congress that there should be no new performance fee, tax, or royalty on public audio performances<br />
– This bill is supported by the Georgia Farm Bureau and the Georgia Broadcaster’s Association<br />
Congressman Loudermilk cosponsored this bill last Congress</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>2. H.Res. 475, Supporting the designation of the month of June as Family Month, </strong>sponsored by Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL)</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;">– This resolution would designate the month of June as Family Month, no longer recognizing June as “Pride Month”<br />
– Recognizes the benefits of marriage and family to men, women, children to society.<br />
– Cites the importance of the traditional family structure and the social, political, economic, and political circumstances that have led to the decline of healthy marriages, homes, and environments to raise children.<br />
– Cites Founding Father John Adam’s quote, “<em>Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other</em>.”</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>3. H.R. 3247, the Sensible Adoption for Every Home, of the SAFE Home Act, </strong>sponsored by Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL)<strong><br />
</strong> – Amends Section 471(a) of the Social Security Act, Federal Foster Care and Adoption Assistance Program, to prohibit federal assistance to any adoption agency, or related organization that purposefully delays, prevents, or prohibits the adoption of a child by parents that wish to raise them in accordance with their biological sex. It provides clear, biologically-based definitions for male and female.<br />
– This includes prospective adoptive parents that refuse to provide so-called “gender-affirming care” to a minor, i.e. surgical operations, psychological/psychiatric treatment, hormonal medications, etc.<br />
– Prospective parents that refuse to make changes to a child’s official identification documentation that would be inconsistent with the child’s biological sex.<br />
The bill allows reasonable implementation delays for state legislatures to make the necessary state level changes to achieve compliance with federal law. State legislatures have until after their next regular meeting after the law is passed for state entities to be in compliance.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><span style="text-decoration: underline; line-height: 23.8px;"><strong>Official Letter:</strong></span></p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>Letter led by Rep. Rick Allen to the International Trade Commission (ITC) to urge the Commission to ensure that unfair Chinese trade practices do not continue to harm the Low-Speed Personal Transportation Vehicle (LSPTV) industry or continue to injure American LSPTV manufacturers and their thousands of workers.</strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;">– Antidumping duty and countervailing duty (CVD) trade cases were filed by U.S. LSPTV producers – Club Car LLC and Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. – in June 2024, alleging that dumped and subsidized Chinese imports have injured the domestic industry. These cases cover vehicles commonly referred to as golf carts, personal transportation vehicles, low speed vehicles, and light utility vehicles, as well as the rolling chassis of these vehicles.<br />
– The ITC issued an affirmative preliminary determination in August 2024, finding the U.S. industry to be injured by imports. The final phase of the ITC’s investigation is underway. The ITC is expected to issue its final determination in July 2025.<br />
– In 2023, more than $500 million in LSPTVs were imported from China, with imports levels rising even higher in 2024, surpassing $800 million. With the aid of substantial Chinese government subsidies, these imported vehicles are being sold below U.S. market prices, taking sales and revenue from domestic producers and underselling and depressing U.S. prices.</p>
