Welch Reaction to Trump’s Threat to Overhaul or Eliminate FEMA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) released the following statement after President Trump said he would consider an Executive Order to ‘get rid of’ the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) while visiting victims of natural disasters today : “FEMA needs reforms, and I’m willing to work with President Trump on that—but to do away with FEMA altogether would leave families, businesses, and communities hammered by disaster beyond desperate and destitute. We will never abandon our fellow Americans.” ###
