Senator Kim Condemns Trump’s Assault on Department of Education

WASHINGTON D.C. –Today,Senator Andy Kimreleased the following statement on the Trump administration cutting the Department of Education’s workforce in half:
“Donald Trump and Elon Musk think that your children’s education is just another program they can cut to pay for tax cuts for billionaires; they’re wrong. This is the first step in eliminating the Department of Education, and it will have a devastating impact on New Jersey families. The Department of Education provides well over a billion dollars a year to our state for everything from school meals to after-school care. Cutting staff means cutting those programs. It means the cost will be felt by our already overburdened taxpayers in New Jersey. We need to put our working families before the billionaire class, and we need to stop these dangerous cuts to our children’s future.”
