Rep. Kiggans Votes to Fund DHS, End Shutdown Impacting Coast Guard, TSA, and FEMA Workers
Rep. Kiggans Votes to Fund DHS, End Shutdown Impacting Coast Guard, TSA, and FEMA Workers March 28, 2026 | Press Releases WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) voted to pass a continuing resolution (CR) that would fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at FY25 levels for an eight week period. This CR will fund DHS in its entirety and, if passed in the Senate, will end the 42-day partial government shutdown that has left more than 100,000 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents and 18,500 essential emergency staffers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) unpaid. Congresswoman Kiggans said , “Now is not the time to return to failed border security policies that put our communities at risk—and unfortunately, the Senate’s DHS bill would do exactly that. We must fully fund the Department of Homeland Security and ensure the dedicated Americans, including our Coast Guard and TSA agents, serving within the agency can do their jobs without the uncertainty of missed paychecks. I urge the Senate to pass a 60-day continuing resolution while working with the House to fully fund DHS!” Watch Rep. Kiggans’ video after the vote here . Read the bill here . The post Rep.
