🇺🇸 Strengthening America’s Defense
This week, the House passed the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) — and we led more amendments than any other Member of Congress to strengthen our military, counter global threats, and keep Iowa communities safe. Why it matters : America’s enemies are getting bolder, more dangerous, and more advanced. From Iranian proxy attacks to Russia’s war in Ukraine and the Chinese Communist Party’s military buildup — the threats are real, and they’re rising . 🎥 I called out those threats — and the investments we need to defeat them — on the House floor this week. ⬇️ Advancing peace through strength starts here at home . It means protecting Iowa’s Guard troops deployed in the Middle East, backing allies like Israel and Taiwan, and giving Iowa’s defense workforce the tools to lead the fight. That’s why I included nine bipartisan amendments in this year’s defense bill to: ✅ Integrate private-sector tech expertise into military operations ✅ Strengthen Iowa’s defense workforce and streamline procurement ✅ Stand with Israel and Taiwan through closer security coordination ✅ Confront authoritarian regimes that continue to threaten global security Bottom Line: Freedom isn’t free. As a 20-year combat veteran, I will always fight to support our troops, defend our nation, and keep Iowa safe.
