Meeting face-to-face with Ohioans across the state
Dear friends and neighbors, I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer, celebrating 250 years of our great nation! I’ve spent time traveling across Ohio, meeting with the workers, job creators, veterans, innovators, and manufacturers who’ve made our state the number-1 place to do business. Every visit has reinforced why I’m proud to represent Ohio in the United States Senate, and I’m excited to bring their voices back with me to Washington as we continue working to strengthen our state and create more opportunities for hardworking families. Rep. Bob Latta, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mertz, and I joined the dedicated people who are working every day to protect our Great Lake in Oregon to discuss how we can support our waterways and vital fishing industry. Ohio makes the things the world needs to live and thrive, including baby formula. I joined Bobbie for their celebration of 1,000,000 babies fed. This company is creating jobs and strengthening our state’s economy. At the Marion County Fair, I joined Ohioans to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! The food and agriculture industry makes up a large part of Ohio’s economy, contributing $124 billion every year. Small businesses are the backbone of Ohio’s economy and help keep our communities strong and growing. I had the opportunity to visit Founders Food Hall in Mt. Vernon to congratulate them on their opening day. At the Dayton VA Medical Center, health care professionals are delivering high-quality care to Ohio’s veterans. I hosted Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins so he could see this work firsthand. Ohio innovation and manufacturing are driving our economy forward, from technologies that help clean our water to the trucks that move goods across America. I hosted Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin in Columbus and Chillicothe to show him that Ohioans are making the things the world needs. It was an honor to celebrate the Fort Washington Way cap project with Cincinnatians. This project has been years in the making, and I fought to secure funding for this transformational investment because it will improve safety, support economic development, and strengthen the region’s competitiveness. Your U.S. Senator, Jon Husted
