Mike Levin Appointed to Subcommittees of the House Appropriations Committee Rep. Levin will serve on the Energy and Water Development Subcommittee & Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee Washington, D.C .- Today, Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) was appointed to two Subcommittees of the full House Appropriations Committee: Energy and Water Development Subcommittee and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee. The Energy and Water Development Subcommittee has funding jurisdiction over the Army Corps of Engineers, the Departments of Energy and the Interior, and energy and water resources projects across the country. The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee has funding jurisdiction over the Department of Veterans Affairs and military construction projects. The Subcommittees oversee and distribute funding crucial to priorities and institutions in California’s 49 th District including Camp Pendleton, sand replenishment efforts, nuclear waste removal, rail corridor protection, barracks habitability, and more. Rep. Levin released the following statement following his appointments to the two Subcommittees: “These Subcommittee appointments will allow me to fight for critical resources for our district’s priorities including clean energy initiatives, sand replenishment efforts, improvements at Camp Pendleton, and more. This will build on my successful record of bringing over $1 billion in federal funding to the 49 th Congressional District since entering Congress. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on these two Subcommittees and on the full House Appropriations Committee on a bipartisan basis to continue delivering investments and results that will impact millions of residents in Southern California.” Last week, Rep. Levin was appointed by the entire House Democratic Caucus to serve on the powerful House Appropriations Committee which is responsible for distributing federal resources to districts across the country for important local projects. The Committee fights for investments in families and communities across America, provides funding to create jobs, grow the economy, keep our country safe and secure, and build for the future. Rep. Levin will be the only Member from San Diego and Orange Counties on the House Appropriations Committee. ### Print Email Share Tweet Next Article Previous Article About Serving You News Contact Issues Privacy Policy Twitter Icon Facebook Icon Youtube Icon Bluesky Icon
