🌐 China’s AI Threat

This week, I joined the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to sound the alarm on the next frontier of conflict: Artificial Intelligence. Why it matters : The CCP isn’t just investing in AI, they’re weaponizing it. This is the Cold War of our generation, and every unnecessary piece of red tape could be the regulatory delay that allows the Chinese to gain the AI advantage. ▶️ Watch my remarks here: What I told the Committee: 📌 The CCP just tested “AI Commander” — software that can generate 10,000 battle plans in under a minute. 📌 A Beijing-based firm, Zhipu, is trying to create a “Digital Silk Road” and lock Chinese AI systems into global markets. 📌 The CCP’s goal is clear : dominate critical tech and dictate digital rules of the road for the rest of the world. As a former intelligence officer who helped stop Huawei’s spread in the U.S., I’ve seen this playbook before. That’s why I’m leading the bipartisan AI Plan Act to build a whole-of-government strategy to secure critical infrastructure, align agency efforts, and ensure American AI innovation stays ahead of the CCP. Bottom Line: China is betting AI will give them the upper hand in global influence and digital control. I’m betting that American ingenuity, paired with Iowa common sense, can outpace them. This is a race we have to win.
