Stanton Statement on Trump Tariffs Ruled Unconstitutional

MESA, Ariz. ,—Today, following the ruling that the Trump administration’s tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) are unconstitutional, U.S. Congressman Greg Stanton issued the following statement : “Today’s ruling is a victory for hardworking Americans. President Trump’s self-defeating tariff power grab was an illegal overreach that raised costs for families and businesses under a false emergency. “This unlawful use of “emergency” authorities to impose tariffs is an overreach of presidential power, and the ruling sends a clear message. We will keep fighting to protect our economy from reckless policies that hurt everyday Americans.”
