Finstad Announces State of the Union Guest

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) announced that he has invited Rochester Chief of Police Jim Franklin to attend the 2026 State of the Union as his guest. Chief Franklin was appointed chief of police on July 26, 2018, becoming the City’s 19th chief law enforcement officer. Serving the largest city in Minnesota’s First Congressional District, Chief Franklin has been committed to advancing an environment of continuous improvement centered on policing that prioritizes meaningful partnerships, trust-building, and collaboration to keep our communities safe. “I am honored to have my good friend, Jim Franklin, join me for this year’s State of the Union,” said Rep. Finstad . “Chief Franklin’s service to our community reflects his unwavering commitment to keeping our families and streets safe.
