<p>In the final days of his presidency, Biden’s administration rushed to secure union agreements designed to tie President Trump’s hands for his entire term. These weren’t just about telework—these backroom deals were crafted by unions that have poured millions into Democrat campaigns and backed every Democrat presidential candidate since Obama.</p>

<p>This week, I led the charge in the Oversight Committee by introducing the <em>Preserving Presidential Management Authority Act</em>—legislation ensuring that no outgoing president can force their successor into binding contracts that undermine their ability to lead. After the bill passed out of committee, President Trump took action by signing an <strong><a href="http://engagement.mail8.housecommunications.gov/f/a/1P3CoUl4lywA4JdHRyI-WA~~/AAS2yhA~/rTIDpS7IlwNj4YHqZc2J6Tz-kqsZaMjq-9w8ESp_rgCnM4F19gWUz5jaspSKpbHiM2sjFkyOaWPQy8FqA5hMkINtueAVIWlMVO623Tywhf-wXuWiZiCOe75nwfK5uBaJ7cXPd4et4UxUzOxkpno8uMFi7kpVzB3xX8VKusBqSXCVkc48HonnUPtPpgBZ4zm-PURwsSjaPYWfkf-i6RYSCbZhvQsoYQ5hjEHBlEJ8PvJj1GkytNM2Qey0GNhUNjwAgRDiIOX_EI0g8bkThBDi8BshjJ4FkWm3_A29rjj3XZRbU7AvrtbQOKo03az3JDZHfMTrsgswgAUpRjJdtVywqw~~" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Executive Order</a></strong> to end collective bargaining for federal unions within agencies—effectively enacting our legislation for the next four years. This is a major victory, but our work isn’t done. These reforms last beyond this administration, we must codify President Trump’s agenda by advancing the <em>Preserving Presidential Management Authority Act</em> to the House floor.</p>

<p>The American people elect a president to set policy, not to have their choice undermined by bureaucratic handcuffs left behind by a previous administration. This is about restoring accountability and making sure federal policy reflects the will of the voters—not special interests in Washington.</p>

<p>For decades, the Department of Education has failed our children—pushing radical agendas like CRT instead of focusing on quality education. Since 1979, it’s grown into a bloated bureaucracy, spending over $80 billion a year while student performance continues to decline.</p>

<p>President Trump’s <a href="http://engagement.mail8.housecommunications.gov/f/a/buTbef5w67YM4IMUYJy_5A~~/AAS2yhA~/EmpD4zv5PWgOq_vNW7z89kDNceyMNZj-EW2Cx5CaieOVlJDZDD7y7mP0YAbgNA46S3WGv3heM5QC0HCvqAHI1UJo5xaPiJb8VETI4fgR4oR5PUCP_fIAT0DoIYDsF8XtKp0rLKQyqoWb6Z8O6wkcSM4edzm2VuIBCUFUvmKukW7m6Dm4OBBbhC-OktWJzrZ28g1qRRDSKnUqmKsf1AWELeuksjoE5TYUPVWyjvg2I2lSZHiBfLm_bW18-NZx__8rz19xY5pA8IxE-hzIxlKdzg~~" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Executive Order to dismantle the Department of Education</strong></a> and return control to states, parents, and local communities is a necessary step. This isn’t just about cutting waste—it’s about ensuring resources actually reach the classrooms where they belong.</p>

<p>Washington’s one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Instead of taking funds away from families and out of communities to empower another layer of Federal administration, we can empower parents and teachers while ensuring dollars stay local and are directed to kids and teachers in the classrooms.  We can promote real academic excellence, and give students the education they deserve. It’s time to put parents and teachers back in charge.</p>

<p>During the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency hearing, I confronted NPR and PBS executives about their blatant bias and misuse of taxpayer dollars. Despite receiving millions annually, these outlets push partisan agendas instead of objective reporting.</p>

<p>NPR’s CEO admitted to ignoring major stories like the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and COVID-19 origins. PBS follows the same pattern—producing content that leans overwhelmingly in one direction.</p>

<p>Following the hearing, I joined the DOGE Committee in urging Congress to end taxpayer funding for the Corporation of Public Broadcasting.  We no longer need public dollars to prop up broadcast media content creation — especially media with such a partisan bias.</p>
