To be clear: Senate Republicans are caving on a deal that gives Donald Trump and his family immunity from tax audits potentially worth $100 million.

Trump slashed cyber defense funding. Now, states are getting hit with cyberattacks – the evidence is pointing to Iran – and Trump is blaming U.S. states. These coordinated attacks should be a wakeup call. I urge Trump Admin to step up & help defend our nation from hackers.

Gee, why might those insurance prices be going up? What might explain Oklahoma’s high volume of costly, destructive weather events, including heavy hail, high winds, and numerous tornadoes? Maybe a scientist might know? A CLIMATE scientist?

In their Big Ugly Bill, Republicans traded away SNAP benefits for hungry families for tax breaks for their billionaire friends. Now, tens of thousands of Wisconsinites are going hungry.

Last week, I had an opportunity to meet with sailors and leadership aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford. I’m inspired by their bravery, and as committed as ever to ensuring our military families get the best benefits.

I’m humbled to see the Norfolk community step up to support those who have lost or are at risk of losing their Medicaid coverage. But let’s not forget that this is only necessary because Republicans’ megabill is stripping tens of thousands of Virginians of the health care coverage they depend on.

This is how the fossil fuel industry takes away places and activities you love. Who should pay for that?

Last night, @governorferguson.bsky.social made a formal request for an expedited emergency declaration for the Spokane fires. Our ENTIRE delegation is urging the President to approve that request immediately. All of us are working together to make sure Eastern & Central WA get more help ASAP.

We have a few ideas: Stop looking for creative ways to continue this illegal war. End the war. Bring down costs. Focus on Americans here at home.

It’s basic hygiene, to know what “impeachment” baggage officers will carry into later testimony. Screwing that up now could blow up a real case later.

What’s next? Brady’s sibling, Giglio v. U.S., requires the government to disclose past dishonesty of anyone they offer as a witness. They are now obliged to determine who lied to make good on future Giglio disclosures.
- SW
They must have been seriously pissed off to use language like “botched” about the lining installation, and to give such detail putting DOI and its components under the bus for misleading them. They really wanted court to see “this wasn’t us!”
- SW
Prosecutors were headed for a huge Brady violation, with professional discipline to worry about; plus they’d been hornswoggled by Interior, Parks and Park Police. One thing for Burgum to lie on Fox News; not cool for prosecutor in court.
- SW
Why did the Reflecting Pool cases blow up? Thank Brady v. Maryland, a Supreme Court case requiring that any exculpatory information the government has be turned over to the defense. A Brady violation is a big deal at DOJ (See Justice Manual 9-5.001). ⬇️

TRUMP CAUSING PAIN AT THE PUMP: President Trump chose to initiate two costly, destabilizing international conflicts: global trade tariffs and a war against Iran. In both cases, Trump is forcing American consumers and businesses to bear higher costs.

This should not be a partisan issue. We cannot let the administration push their deregulatory agenda until there’s no wildlife left to protect.
- AS
By repealing a key provision that has — for decades — protected endangered wildlife, the Trump administration has made it legal for for-profit industries to destroy the habitats of endangered species.

Cell phones don’t belong in the classroom. My plan to ban cell phones in K-12 classrooms and limit screen time keeps kids focused on what matters: learning. Let’s get it done.

He defended the insurrection and the President’s hush-money payments. He has been and will always be a Trump loyalist. He’ll put the President’s interests over the interests of the nation and should not be confirmed.

Pretty clear Todd Blanche is just another yes-man who will sign off on the President’s worst ideas. Why would we trust someone who demonstrates he can’t stand up for what’s right?

Meta’s tax bill: down $8 BILLION. How? Donald Trump added loophole after loophole to Democrats’ minimum tax on billion-dollar corporations. What has he done to lower your costs? Nothing.

This deal solidifies the Trump family's immunity from tax audits. Under no circumstances should the American people believe that Trump‘s former personal attorney will stop his schemes to funnel taxpayer dollars to his allies and supporters.

Trump can’t stop flip-flopping… he threatens airstrikes on Iran, calls them off claiming a deal is within reach, and now talks have collapsed again. Five months into this war of choice, there’s still no end in sight.

If this were the CEO of a private company, they could face jail time. But for Trump? Just another Monday. He is the most corrupt president in our nation’s history. Democrats will hold him accountable for this and so much more.

Up against lawyers like that, the Trump lawyers are badly outmatched, as is DOJ’s crooked gangster gong show lurking in the shadows and filing no pleadings or appeal. “Fraud on the court” is deadly serious, and this ain’t over by any stretch.

Here’s the language from the judge’s minute order inviting the amici back:
images:1
- SW
Their brief on that teed up further judicial inquiry, so Trump (and likely DOJ behind the scenes) withdrew the Trump complaint to get out of Dodge ahead of the sheriff, and then announced the “settlement” under the caption of the nonexistent case.
- SW
In a simple minute order, the judge just asked a panel of lawyers, including a former Solicitor General, to step in. Early in the case, the judge had asked them as amici to advise her on whether there was “adversity” between the parties.
- SW
Trump’s lawyers (one of whom was referred by the court for Florida Bar discipline) have appealed the decision finding collusion and misconduct by them and DOJ. Who will be on the other side, in a case of collusion, with DOJ in hiding?
- SW
Probably recognizing the rotten process of their rotten deal, DOJ never filed a pleading in the case. Weird. But maybe they thought by evading appearance in the case they could duck responsibility for possible fraud on the court.
- SW
Start by recalling that fraud on the court is really bad — worse than contempt; so bad that from our research no senior DOJ official in history has ever been accused of it, let alone subjected to a judicial inquiry. That fraud question remains pending in the court.
- SW
Interestinger and interestinger: Remember the Florida federal court inquiry into whether the crooked slush fund and sleazy Trump family tax fraud amnesty deal was a “fraud on the court”? Major development down there! 🧵

It’s obvious – this President never had a strategy to get us out of this war. Working Americans are the ones paying for this war, and this President just does not care. End the war, lower costs.

The $1.776 billion Trump “Anti-Weaponization Fund” is dead! Whoopee!! Wait . . . . how long ‘til we see a $1.9 billion “Trump Justice Fund”? Or a special drive-up window for MAGA Federal Tort Claims Act claimants?

Minnesota became the first state in the country to fully ban AI nudification technology, despite Elon Musk’s attempts to halt it. A federal judge denied his company’s petition to temporarily block the law. Minnesotans’ privacy isn’t up for interpretation.

Trump’s illegal war in Iran is a gift to his Big Oil friends who bankrolled his campaign with the promise of raking in profits. Turns out it's the one promise he actually delivered on. Meanwhile, Americans are paying over $4 per gallon at the gas pump and suffering from rising energy costs.
