This is Katy's story. It shows just how vital food, housing, job search assistance, and other services are to helping people get back on their feet. I'm proud my office was able to secure federal funding to Lunch Break to help countless people like her.

Pragmatism and humility must be core values in building America's foreign policy for the future. It is how we will get out of this era of crisis and move into a new era of American opportunity.

It was a pleasure to sit down with Eliza, the Senate Page we sponsored this spring, and hear about her experience working at the Capitol and desire to study abroad. I look forward to hearing about Eliza's bright future ahead!

It was an honor to speak at @usglobalinit.bsky.social's Annual Impact Forum on the state of the world and the future of global stability. I believe that by addressing our greatest vulnerabilities and building resilience we can create a future that is defined by opportunity for every American.

I went to Delaney Hall to follow up on conversations I had this morning with family members of detainees. ICE and GEO Group did not let me speak with detainees. Why do they insist on hiding the truth even after getting almost $1 billion of tax dollars?

I’m back at Delaney Hall today. I’ll keep you updated on what I see inside.

This morning, I spoke to families with loved ones in Delaney Hall. They told me about an appalling lack of access to healthcare, violence and intimidation by guards, and horrible living conditions within the facility. I’m going back to Delaney today to continue the fight to shut it down.

Everyone deserves the right to due process. Overwhelming judges’ caseloads does not do justice by the people and families whose lives hang in the balance, or to our communities. It’s what I see at Delaney Hall in Newark and around the country. We deserve better.

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Last year, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia. I’ve come to understand first-hand what it means to be a caregiver. That's why I'm committed to supporting the millions of Americans with Alzheimer's, their families, and caregivers.

One student asked me: what should students feel hopeful about right now? I told him that I’m looking forward to seeing how their generation’s talents will make NJ the place to be when it comes to innovation. 2/2

I always enjoy any chance I get to speak to younger generations and get a sense of what’s on their minds. I visited Rowan University to speak with leadership and students about fostering NJ-grown talent. I am excited to work with them to build NJ's Einstein Corridor. 1/2

Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day. I stand in solidarity with victims and survivors of gun violence in NJ and around the country. We have lost far too many of our loved ones to gun violence. We must continue the fight for common sense gun control.

It’s an honor to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities in NJ and around the country, this month and every month. We are better for the contributions LGBTQ+ Americans have made to our society. Happy Pride, everyone!

At around 5am, after voting all night, Senate Republicans voted to give ICE $70 BILLION more in your taxpayer dollars. No reforms or changes made. We can still fight this.

What I saw inside Delaney Hall was unjust. It was cruel. That’s why I’m fighting to get an audit done immediately and improve conditions. No more taxpayer dollars to fund this lawlessness.

On the 37th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, we remember the bravery of the Chinese people and honor their fight for democracy. History can help shine a light on the present. As we look back, we must also look forward and stand against the ongoing human rights abuses.

🚨 Happening at the Capitol now: More money for ICE, nothing to improve our lives.
video

Senate Republicans just started a marathon voting session known as vote-a-rama in the Senate. Not to improve your life. Not to lower your costs. But to funnel $70 billion more to ICE and the abuses I saw at Delaney Hall. Not another dime.

Trump wants loyalty, not expertise. He wants sycophants that will blindly support his self-serving policies. So of course he’s making it easier to get rid of the federal workers who are there to serve our country. It’s all a part of his corruption agenda.

For-profit companies like GEO Group run detention centers all over the country and don’t feel any accountability. They are a part of our nation’s broken immigration system and the cruelty of the Trump administration.

Finally. Great to see the House stand up to Trump to put an end to his costly, illegal war in Iran. Now, it's time for the Senate to pass it, too.

I sat down with @podsaveamerica.crooked.com to talk about what I saw in Delaney Hall and the lack of due process that's keeping hundreds locked up inside, living through inhumane conditions. Full episode out now.

I will continue to work with Mayor Minor, who graciously took time to help me see what could be possible if we deliver reliable transit in South Jersey – a path toward helping workers support their families and build lives of decency. 2/2

Last week, I visited Hanwha Philly Shipyard. The shipyard presents an excellent opportunity to foster NJ-grown talent, bolster our country’s reputation in shipbuilding, and attract investment that will build NJ’s Einstein Corridor.

Thank you to the @alzassociation.bsky.social and Alzheimer’s Impact Movement for stopping by the Capitol today! It was great to meet with advocates from my home state of New Jersey and hear their perspectives on patient and caregiving needs, as well as the need to support research funding. 1/2

Trump clearly does not take national security seriously. At a time when Trump has taken our nation into an ill-conceived war, threats from new technology proliferate, and China continues to remain laser focused on undermining us, having someone with zero national security experience... 1/2

The Trump administration is lying about Delaney Hall. Here's what's actually going on.

If you don’t like what you’re seeing at Delaney Hall, pay attention to what’s happening in Congress this week. We must stop giving ICE and for-profit companies like GEO Group a blank check to create chaos.

I'm back at the Capitol to advocate for New Jersey because what I saw at Delaney Hall is out right disturbing. Here are three things we can do to make things better for detainees and their families.

Refusing to address the inhumane conditions at Delaney Hall is a choice that ICE and GEO Group are making. Putting profit over people. Here are 3 things Secretary Mullin COULD focus on fixing right now.

It shouldn't be easier for ICE to deploy pepper spray and riot gear than to provide medical support and quality food.

Next week Senate Republicans are poised to give ICE and CBP tens of billions of dollars to funnel right to private, well-connected companies like GEO Group. What’s are they offering to help you? Nothing. For them, Delaney Hall is just the start. Their corrupt & cruel agenda will be up for a vote.
video

A revolving door of corruption. Zero regard for the rule of law. Companies like GEO Group are profiting off of human misery and it’s time for it to end.

This is truly a modern innovation hub right here in Central Jersey. It’s great to see how Bellworks and Commvault are contributing to the Einstein Corridor – the broader innovation ecosystem that’s making NJ the #1 place to invest and grow! 3/3
- AK
I also met with Commvault to learn about how their partnership with Bell Works encourages the development of flexible, collaborative work environments that support innovation across sectors. 2/3

This week, I toured Bell Works Fort Monmouth and learned about the “metroburb” concept, a self-contained, city-style destination in the suburbs, and the role it can play in attracting young talent to NJ. 1/3

Today, I led a NJ delegation letter demanding that Secretary Mullin and Acting Attorney General Blanche take action to immediately end the inhumane conditions at Delaney Hall and ICE's retaliatory tactics against detainees and advocates. 1/2

My office is tracking the Amtrak fire that caused disruption to commutes on NJ Transit and Amtrak this morning. I'm wishing a speedy recovery to all workers who were injured. We remain in touch with Amtrak and NJ Transit as they work to get trains back up and running again.

This week, I visited Rising Treetops, an amazing 15-acre facility that supports people with disabilities of all ages. I’m so proud of the work they’re doing and the support they’re providing, including to families and caregivers. We must continue to lift up places like Rising Treetops in NJ.

This week, I visited Flexcraft, a small business in Neptune City, NJ that employees lots of local residents. 1/3
