Every New Yorker deserves quality, affordable housing. I'm fighting to secure funding for much-needed infrastructure improvements at Patterson Houses in the Bronx.

I warned this would happen. Pete Hegseth’s confirmation meant a compliant Pentagon—and that’s exactly what we continue to see. We need leaders who restrain the President, not amplify his impulses. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/18/u...

It cost ~$215,000 to run a winning campaign for Congress when I first ran. That’d barely get a campaign off the ground today. Dark money in politics is a crisis—and Citizens United enabled it.

President Trump has talked a big game about America's foreign policy failures. But, in just one year, he's become a foreign policy President: dropping bombs on seven countries and two oceans, and promising to use U.S. tax dollars to make *other* countries rich. youtube.com/shorts/TAzDM...

I don’t want to just fiddle around the margins. We need a national emergency on housing, and my bill does just that.

One year into the Senate, I heard the same thing over and over: it has been a hard year for our country and our community. But everywhere I go, I still see good people who love their families, love this country, and want to do the right thing. That goodness is worth fighting for.

I've said repeatedly that I will not support one dime of funding for Trump's lawless ICE operations. The funding bill released today fails to sufficiently rein them in or ensure people's rights are protected. I'm voting NO.

Last year, Trump ripped away $500 MILLION from Howard Hanson Dam—critical for flood control, our water supply, & habitat restoration. Pure corruption. Well, I just passed the funding to get construction back on track. Don't mess with our water. Don't mess with our fish.

Actions have consequences. Trump cares more about picking fights with our friends and allies than he does our own economic security. The American people want a president who cares about strengthening our economy, not throwing it into complete chaos.

16 years after the Citizens United decision, we are living with its consequences: a corrupt administration beholden to America’s wealthiest donors, not its people.

It’s treasures like these that Trump and his BLM nominee Steve Pearce, a fierce advocate for selling off our public lands, want to take away from us. I’m a NO on Steve Pearce. Colorado’s public lands are NEVER for sale.

Everything is getting more expensive for working people, but Trump is abusing his power to make himself at least $1.4 billion richer. The most corrupt President in American history. A government of, by, and for the crooks.

Coloradans deserve a leader who makes life more affordable, not less.
- MB
Trump has spent his first year back in office making life more expensive for Coloradans. He has hiked health insurance costs, driven up energy prices, and cut taxes for the wealthiest—all while his tariffs add thousands in annual costs for working families.
- TB
Donald Trump promised to lower costs for Americans on Day 1. A year later, families can tell you that is just not happening.

And we are going to fight to put an end to the administration’s cruel mass deportation program which devastates families even as it is a body blow to our economy.
- AS
The American people deserve to know what’s happening inside these walls. We are going to keep conducting oversight of what is happening when a friend, neighbor, or family member is detained by ICE.
- AS
But the trauma within ICE detention facilities is unseen, as individuals spend weeks, months, or longer without being reunited with family. Threatened with deportation to countries they know nothing about. And ready to give up on their appeals, to avoid further detention.
- AS
And they described a lack of access to vital medical care, like insulin for diabetes. We have all watched in horror as ICE has engaged in indiscriminate immigration raids, grabbing citizens and noncitizens alike, and often endangering the lives of our neighbors in the process.
- AS
Many of the people we met with had no criminal record and were showing up for immigration appointments when they were arrested by ICE. They rarely get to see family members — who may live hundreds or thousands of miles away in the United States.
- AS
These are just some of the heartbreaking stories @padilla.senate.gov and I heard today at the California City Detention Center. 🧵

I just got off the phone with General Mazloum, head of the SDF. The U.S. must demand the Syrian govt immediately comply with the ceasefire. The SDF has been our chief partner in the fight against ISIS & we must ensure they're treated fairly in the ongoing integration process. Full statement:

This is a U.S. citizen. No criminal record. No search warrant. No excuse. Unabashed cruelty & indiscriminate violence is ICE’s point & purpose.

Time to reconsider Trump/Russia? Why Trump, who needs dominance in every relationship, goes submissive with Putin? Why everything Trump does helps, pleases, or goes easy on Putin? (War criminal on Board of Peace!)
- SW
Russia’s greatest constraint is NATO. Russia fears NATO. Russia won’t touch Greenland because of NATO. Just look at Russia’s open celebrations of Trump’s Greenland gambit. They’ve figured this out. It’s not complicated.
- SW
Trump’s argument makes no sense until you consider whom his nonsense helps. Not America; not NATO; not Denmark or Greenland — the person it helps is Vladimir Putin; the country it helps is Russia. Cui bono? Remember that principle: Cui bono.
- SW
The greatest danger of Russia taking Greenland comes from a damaged NATO, precisely what Trump is doing. Trump is the threat he warns us about. Trump’s argument about that threat makes no sense. Almost.
- SW
Trump says Denmark isn’t protected enough against this imaginary threat. Actually, Denmark has done the most powerful thing it can to protect against that supposed threat: join NATO (a founding member!).
- SW
Trump says US needs Greenland to protect Greenland from Russia. That is probably not in the top 100 national security threats we face. It is not a threat I have once ever heard mentioned, until now.

It was an honor to be recognized at last night’s National Cultural Diversity Council Martin Luther King, Jr. Dinner. At a moment when hard-won civil rights protections are under pressure, I’m reminded of Dr. King's teachings and our collective duty to show up for our communities.

President Trump didn’t get a peace prize so now he’s threatening to start a war.

Just last week, Trump claimed “inflation is stopped.” But YOU know that’s a lie. In fact, his first year back in office cost NV families an EXTRA $1,500 each on average. Prices are up on everything from housing to groceries and Nevadans can’t afford three more years of Trump’s reckless tariffs.

It's officially been one year of Trump breaking his campaign promises to the American people. Here's what Trump's "America First" agenda looks like: — Skyrocketing health care costs — Biggest cut to Medicaid in history — Higher costs under reckless tariffs — Running Venezuela

Over the last year, President Trump pardoned dozens of criminals. Combined, they were ordered to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in fines and restitution. Trump let them off the hook. Nothing says cracking down on crime like letting criminals run free.

Just like the water cycle we all learned about in grade school, when politicians receive money from special interests, they then make it rain on these special interests with favors, pardons, favorable legislation, and government contracts. I break it down.

ICE agents are now racially profiling and harassing *off duty police officers* in Minnesota and demanding their papers.

Today I talked with police chiefs from across the metro area. This isn’t just happening in Mpls and St. Paul. The 3000 ICE agents are in the suburbs and across our state. The surge is disrupting the work of local law enforcement.
