The President is trying to nationalize the elections to favor him and his party. And he won’t rule out sending the military to polling locations to interfere. I am fighting to stop that.

I also got demos on how our local manufacturers are changing their production techniques and incorporating Apple tech to aid their work. The Manufacturing Academy offers free assessments for existing companies and offers advice and help incorporating new techniques.

You can do both at the Michigan State Apple Developer Academy and the Manufacturing Academy in Detroit. This week, I met students who aren’t just learning to code and build new apps – they’re building businesses, solving real-world problems, and creating new opportunities right here in Michigan.

Michigan must must must retain and attract more young people. It’s existential for us. That’s why it’s critical to train the next generation of innovators, and to advance how we do our bread-and-butter manufacturing into the 21st century.

I worked with Republicans to ban cell phones in Department of Defense-led schools. We should ban them in all K-12 schools nationwide to help kids focus and learn.

The U.S. Post Office is one of the most important institutions in our country. We need leaders who won’t taint it with the obsession of one man.

Secretary Hegseth is blocking promotions across the military, including women and officers of color who otherwise were recommended for promotion. It is impacting morale, and we need answers. michiganadvance.com/2026/07/08/s...

This is all part of America’s 250th birthday —and I’m excited for Michiganders to experience these foundational documents from July 9-26.

The museum is one of just eight across the nation that get to display these documents to the public, including one of the original engravings of the Declaration of Independence and the very first official oath of office, signed by George Washington.

Our Chaldean-American community is part of the fabric that makes Metro Detroit so unique. A pillar of this community is the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce, which promotes and preserves their cultural heritage (as far back as the medieval period) and encourages businesses and economic growth.

The Constitution gives states the responsibility to conduct elections. What would have been the routine participation of the Department of Justice has now been tainted by the President’s obsession with his 2020 loss, and his clear goal of bending the electoral system to his advantage.
- ES
And all of this is happening under the cloud of repeated false allegations that the 2020 election was rigged and that certain types of voting, like mail voting, are illegitimate.
- ES
Though federal observers are nothing new, what is new is that the Department of Justice is using false claims about the 2024 election as the rationale to deploy them.

Michigan elections are safe, secure and fair. Michiganders know that, and the Department of Justice knows that. bridgemi.com/michigan-gov...

Ahead of America's 250th, I sat down with Haley Lickstein and my friends, Senators @bluntrochester.senate.gov and @alsobrooks.senate.gov, to talk about what it means for us, as new Senators, to serve at this important moment in time. Watch our conversation: youtu.be/lnDv9wX4ZNU?...

I'm glad law enforcement moved fast here. But as we've seen repeatedly in Michigan, these events keep happening, and everyone must call them out when they see it. We cannot let this kind of hate become normalized. 2/2

Everyone deserves the right to worship in peace. These threats against the American Islamic Community Center in Madison Heights are acts of anti-Muslim hate, and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. 1/2

ICE has announced that they are selling the warehouse in Romulus that was intended for use as a detention center. This facility was built for auto parts, not to house human beings, and the people of Michigan pushed back. Your voice matters.

We cannot allow this type of corruption to become normalized. It should be condemned by everyone -- Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. And I look forward to Congress doing its Constitutional duty to investigate and provide the American taxpayers the accountability they deserve.
- ES
President Trump and his sons are using our taxpayer money to line their own pockets. The President continues to show the American people he is focused exclusively on his vanity projects and enriching himself at the expense of lowering their costs.

We want the military to be the best fighting force it can be, and it can't do that when its morale is being tested and people are being fired or passed up for promotions – especially women and people of color. I break down the impacts and what I'm hearing from service members.

We cannot let this become normalized. This kind of toxicity in our politics is way over the line, especially when children are involved and this should be condemned. My heart goes out to Pete, Chasten, and their whole family. substack.com/home/post/p-...

The Dobbs decision was a cautionary tale. Even though the Supreme Court allowed abortion over 50 years ago, we never legislated a woman's right to choose. If our grandparents had taken action, we would have reproductive freedom across the country. On the 4th anniversary of Dobbs the fight continues.

The leader of the U.S. Postal Service and his recent attempts to curb voting by mail are part of a much bigger story. President Trump does not believe that elections he loses are valid. It’s all part of his authoritarian playbook. youtu.be/R8V7gRKg_wU?...

No one should have to go without the medicine they need to live just because of how much it costs. I voted to cap insulin prices at $35 for those on Medicare, and now, this bipartisan bill extends that cap to everyone on private insurance.

Millions of Americans and thousands of Michiganders are getting kicked off their insurance or going without it. All because President Trump chose to cut healthcare so he could pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.
