Justice wasn’t served today in Virginia. We must continue to work to preserve and protect our democracy.

Trump is asking for $1 billion for a ballroom. What could that cover instead?

Gas is now $4.56 a gallon, and tens of billions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted on a war of choice.
- MW
You’re paying more because of Trump’s forever war.

Trump can call his “miniwar” over all he wants. After tens of billions of taxpayer dollars spent, gas prices skyrocketing, and no clear end in sight… Americans know the truth.
- MW
Trump has slashed health care, shuttered doctors offices, and fired thousands… ...but wants $1 billion for a ballroom and tens of billions more for a forever war.

Access to mifepristone has been temporarily restored – but Republicans’ assaults on health care won’t stop. They’re attacking Medicaid, the ACA, and abortion to make it harder and less affordable for you to access care.
- MW
Last week, the Supreme Court continued their all-out assault on the Voting Rights Act – the pinnacle of the civil rights movement. We need to continue to fight back and pass strong voting rights legislation.

Trump’s attacks on our free and fair elections won’t stop.

Gas is $4.46 per gallon. No meaningful action on lowering housing costs. Child care costs still skyrocketing. Trump ran on lowering costs, and instead he’s actively making them worse.

Trump can call this war over all he wants… Americans know the truth. It’s way easier to get into a war in the Middle East than it is to get out of one. We’re still deep in this one.
- MW
While I’m glad the Supreme Court has temporarily reinstated access to mifepristone, women are still left in limbo with a constantly shifting landscape of regulations across the country. We need to pass strong legislation that protects reproductive care.
- MW
Week in and week out, I’m voting to end this painful war in Iran. Americans want action on health care, energy, and housing costs, not another forever war.
- MW
We all knew this was going to happen – after Republicans ended ACA tax credits that kept health insurance affordable, millions are now dropping their coverage. It never had to be this way.
- MW
House Republicans have finally voted to end the DHS shutdown. Now, it’s time to put common sense guardrails on ICE and CBP.

The Iran War is now as unpopular as the Iraq and Vietnam Wars. Americans are footing the bill every day for this war of choice… when will it end?
- MW
Trump spiked health care costs for tens of millions of Americans… while finding money for a war that’s costing tens of billions of dollars.

We’re running low on key munitions that will take years and billions to replenish. Trump gutted Medicaid but still keeps finding billions more for a war of choice.

Combined with his reckless firing of countless highly-qualified agents for purely political reasons… does this really sound like someone capable of keeping Americans safe?

This morning’s Supreme Court ruling only further underscores the urgent need for Congress to protect and expand voting rights. We still need to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act.
- MW
The housing crisis is spiraling out of control. Americans can’t afford rent or the skyrocketing costs of ownership. We need to pass the ROAD to Housing Act so we can start taking meaningful action to lower Americans’ costs.
- MW
This administration will do anything but focus on lowering costs.

Particularly as an Alexandria resident, this bill to “make DC square again” is a sad, distracting attempt to disenfranchise Virginians. Republicans should join us in actually working to improve costs, health care, and housing… not doing partisan stunts.
- MW
I look forward to returning to the Senate this week and continuing that essential work.

If I can find any solace during this time, it’s that I have the enormous privilege to serve Virginians and the responsibility to keep working for a better, more just world in Maddy’s name.
- MW
She used to say to me: “Dad, you have the power – you have to use it.” She pushed me to make the most of my position, to use my seat in the Senate to help people in meaningful ways.
- MW
Maddy was a deeply empathetic and engaged person. Even as recently as the day she passed, she was full of ideas and suggestions for me – especially how I could improve my social media to make a difference.
- MW
As we remember our incredible daughter, Maddy, my family has been deeply touched by the outpouring of support we’ve received. Thank you to everyone for your kind words.

Tulsi Gabbard probably sees the writing on the wall with the firings of Bondi and Noem. How much election interference is she willing to do to stay in Trump’s good graces?
- MW
And we’re also going to need even bigger solutions – like having AI companies pay for some of this transition – in order to fully get ahead. We need bold policy solutions to meet this moment… and I’m continuing to press for action daily.
- MW
But we’re also going to need a larger plan to prepare for some of the other changes down the line, so I’m working on something bipartisan with Mike Rounds, too. www.warner.senate.gov/newsroom/pre...

And we’ve also been pressing directly on the executive branch to start some of that data collection started ASAP. www.warner.senate.gov/newsroom/pre...

We need better data collection so we can support and retrain the most at-risk workers. I have a bill with Josh Hawley to do it: www.warner.senate.gov/newsroom/pre...

We could see 30% unemployment among recent grads unless we get serious about preparing for the massive AI-driven changes to our economy. Here’s some of what we need to do (🧵)

Tulsi Gabbard’s decision to recommend a lawful whistleblower for prosecution is yet another example of her willingness to carry out politically motivated, bogus orders to appease President Trump.

Regime change? Not really. Iranian navy destroyed? No. All nuclear capabilities ended? Also no. We’ve spent billions on a war that’s taken American lives and achieved none of its goals.
- MW
Yet another desperate attempt by Tulsi Gabbard to crush and criminalize dissent and manipulate the levers of power in favor of Trump – much like she’s attempting to do in our elections.

I’m keeping Cerina and Justin Fairfax’s children in my prayers as we all process this shocking and horrifying news. To any Virginian impacted by domestic violence, help is available at 1-800-799-7233.

Any way you slice it, Americans are forced to pay more under Trump’s economy.

I just voted AGAIN to rein in Trump’s costly, deadly war in Iran… Republicans blocked it. We will keep fighting to end this horrible forever war.

Things are incredibly challenging, but we are seeing some signs of hope. The Hungarian people came out in record numbers to vote out Orban, their authoritarian leader. Democracy can overcome autocracy.

On Yom HaShoah, we honor and remember the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. Today and every day, we know that “never again” starts with an enduring, daily commitment to speaking out against all forms of anti-Semitism.
