It shouldn't be easier for ICE to deploy pepper spray and riot gear than to provide medical support and quality food.

Next week Senate Republicans are poised to give ICE and CBP tens of billions of dollars to funnel right to private, well-connected companies like GEO Group. What’s are they offering to help you? Nothing. For them, Delaney Hall is just the start. Their corrupt & cruel agenda will be up for a vote.

A revolving door of corruption. Zero regard for the rule of law. Companies like GEO Group are profiting off of human misery and it’s time for it to end.

This is truly a modern innovation hub right here in Central Jersey. It’s great to see how Bellworks and Commvault are contributing to the Einstein Corridor – the broader innovation ecosystem that’s making NJ the #1 place to invest and grow! 3/3
- AK
I also met with Commvault to learn about how their partnership with Bell Works encourages the development of flexible, collaborative work environments that support innovation across sectors. 2/3

This week, I toured Bell Works Fort Monmouth and learned about the “metroburb” concept, a self-contained, city-style destination in the suburbs, and the role it can play in attracting young talent to NJ. 1/3

What I saw there earlier this week and continue to see is absolutely unacceptable. Delaney Hall must be shut down immediately. 2/2

Today, I led a NJ delegation letter demanding that Secretary Mullin and Acting Attorney General Blanche take action to immediately end the inhumane conditions at Delaney Hall and ICE's retaliatory tactics against detainees and advocates. 1/2

My office is tracking the Amtrak fire that caused disruption to commutes on NJ Transit and Amtrak this morning. I'm wishing a speedy recovery to all workers who were injured. We remain in touch with Amtrak and NJ Transit as they work to get trains back up and running again.

This week, I visited Rising Treetops, an amazing 15-acre facility that supports people with disabilities of all ages. I’m so proud of the work they’re doing and the support they’re providing, including to families and caregivers. We must continue to lift up places like Rising Treetops in NJ.

We must do everything we can to make NJ an easy place to run a business and help family-owned, local businesses like Flexcraft continue to thrive as we build an Einstein Corridor for innovation in our state. 3/3

They told me about the important role that the plastics manufacturing industry plays in NJ, how tariffs and rising costs are hurting small businesses, and the need for more NJ-grown, skilled technical labor in the manufacturing industry. 2/3

This week, I visited Flexcraft, a small business in Neptune City, NJ that employees lots of local residents. 1/3

I want you to hear straight from me about what happened at Delaney Hall on Monday and what I saw inside the facility. ICE out of control. GEO Group profiting off of human misery. People living in inhumane conditions. Let me walk you through it.

The people inside Delaney Hall deserve their day in court and to be treated humanely, not violently. The time is now to shut this broken facility down. –AK 3/3

ICE and GEO Group have a responsibility to keep detainees safe; they’ve instead refused to let State health officials conduct full inspections and have repeatedly stood in the way of Congressional oversight. 2/3
- AK
My office has received multiple calls today alleging use of pepper spray and physical force against detainees inside Delaney Hall. If true, these actions must stop immediately and demand accountability. 1/3

It was great to celebrate Small Business Month with Little Dog Brewing in Neptune City, NJ, and it was equally important to hear how rising utility costs have impacted their operations. What an amazing woman-run establishment in Monmouth County.

Donald Trump’s economy is failing you. You’re paying more for gas, groceries, electricity and air conditioning — pretty much everything. What happened to his promise to lower costs?

Secretary Mullin said I shouldn't have been at Delaney Hall, but I disagree. This isn't about me. This is about the detainees and their families, the lawlessness we're seeing from ICE. I was willing to take a risk and I'd do it all over again to keep people safe.

Trump gets a $1.8 billion slush fund for his loyalists and supporters. Congressional Republicans want to write a blank check to ICE. And what do you get? The corruption and lawlessness is out of control.

Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating in NJ and around the world! Wishing you and your loved ones peace and joy.

Don't let ICE and this administration lie to you. I saw inside Delaney Hall with my own eyes. The conditions are absolutely unacceptable.

What I saw at Delaney Hall reinforced what we already know: we can't continue to write a blank check to ICE while their violence and lawlessness continue.

I told ICE that they could NOT just plow through a crowd of civilians at Delaney Hall. They didn't care. Here's what happened yesterday.

For GEO Group, the company that runs the Delaney Hall detention facility, it’s all about profit over people. What I saw there this weekend was absolutely corrupt and cruel.
video
- AK
What I witnessed and experienced today was shameful. Delaney Hall is a failure; it’s this administration’s failure. The only way to make this right for our communities is to shut it down and make sure the failures we’ve seen never happen again. 4/4
- AK
This is more of the same lawlessness we’ve seen elsewhere around the country. Our country deserves accountability. Our country deserves the humane treatment of every person here. In fact, our Constitution demands this. 3/4
- AK
Instead of engaging with me and others about the poor conditions, ICE sent in an armored vehicle and a line of armed agents that only poured gasoline on the fire. Civilians were tackled and restrained, and agents fired pepper balls and spray into the crowd. 2/4

I saw chaos inside and outside of the ICE detention center Delaney Hall today. Detainees protesting the lack of due process, the disgusting food and poor treatment while their families and advocates stood outside calling for help. 1/4

Delaney Hall must be shut down immediately. ICE cannot be allowed to continue operating in this way. 2/2

I’m back at Delaney Hall with Governor Sherrill and other members of the NJ delegation to meet with families of detainees and listen to community advocates. We’re working together to make sure they’re heard and to speak out with them. 1/2

I sat down with the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to talk about how we can expand opportunities for New Jerseyans. As we continue to promote economic growth in our state, we can’t forget about supporting the small businesses that give so much to our communities.

Shut Delaney Hall down, NOW. Today, @menendez.house.gov and I went to Delaney Hall because of the inhumane conditions we've been hearing about. What I saw and heard is absolutely unacceptable.

Memorial Day is about remembrance. It is also about community. I am grateful to have spent this morning at the Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery with active service members, veterans, and gold star families. We must honor the sacrifice of all of our service members who gave all for our country.

I met with Bristol Myers Squibb to learn about their work in neurology and how we can support innovative treatments for Alzheimer’s patients. We need to improve the system of care for people living with Alzheimer's disease from affordable medications to access to long-term care.

I’m in touch with families and advocates of those detained at Delaney Hall, and what I’m hearing about conditions is simply unacceptable. Full statement below.

No one in government should be allowed to profit off of the information or influence they have access to while in office. That's why I've been pushing to ban stock trading across all three branches of government. It's just common sense.

America is no longer seen as a reliable partner. The chaos of this administration has made us untrustworthy on the global stage. We must fix this.

This week, I met with NJ high school students who are a part of the Close-Up Washington Program. I got to hear what’s on their minds and answer their questions about the civic process. So wonderful to see so many young people interested and engaged in public service!

It was an honor to deliver keynote remarks at @fp4america.bsky.social Leadership Summit and speak about how we can reshape America’s foreign policy to be focused on resilience – not just about weathering the anxieties and challenges of today, but building opportunity for future generations to come.
