Ricketts, Schiff Resolution Designating October as Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month Passes Senate
WASHINGTON, D.C . – U.S. Senators Pete Ricketts (R-NE) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) introduced a resolution to designate October 2026 as Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month in America. The Senate passed the bipartisan resolution on September 30. “Substance abuse is a public health issue with terrible consequences for Nebraskans,” said Senator Ricketts. “Our loved ones and communities suffer from illegal drug use. Just last year, substance abuse affected nearly 45 million Americans. We can and must do more.
