🌽 Hearing from Farmers
Iowa’s farmers don’t just feed our state — they feed and fuel the world. Over the weekend, I joined Iowa growers and producers in Madison County for a roundtable to hear directly from the folks who put food on our tables and bring their priorities to Washington. Why it matters : With $25 billion in annual crop sales, Iowa agriculture isn’t just important to our economy — it is our economy . Listening to farmers ensures the policies I’m leading in Congress reflect the real-world needs of Iowa producers. At the roundtable, we talked about those needs, including the importance of new markets for Iowa-grown products. ⬇️ That’s exactly why we fought to secure big wins for Iowa farmers in this year’s tax package, and we delivered: ✅ New market access for Iowa-grown produce ✅ $60 billion to strengthen the farm safety net ✅ Reference price updates for key row crops like corn and soybeans ✅ Conservation funding to help producers prepare for and recover from natural disasters There’s still work to do, and what I’m fighting for is simple: certainty for Iowa producers and reliable access to global markets. Bottom Line: Iowa farmers feed and fuel the world. I’ll keep working across the aisle to deliver results that reflect Iowa’s priorities.
