Oct 07, 2026 Press DECATUR, IL — Today, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) visited Dove, Inc. in Decatur to celebrate the organization receiving nearly $145,000 through the AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). During her visit, Budzinski met with Dove staff and senior volunteers to hear how the federal investment is helping adults 55 and older give back and support their neighbors across the 13th District. Dove, Inc. has sponsored the RSVP program since 1976, connecting adults 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities that address needs in their own communities. On June 30, Dove was awarded $144,731 through the FY26 AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP grant competition. The program provides funding to organizations that engage older adults as volunteers to address critical local needs and strengthen communities. “People who want to give their time and talents to their communities should have every opportunity to do so, no matter their age,” said Congresswoman Budzinski . “Dove understands the incredible value that older adults bring to our communities and this investment will help connect even more seniors with meaningful opportunities to serve their neighbors across Macon and DeWitt Counties. I’m proud to support AmeriCorps Seniors and the organizations like Dove that make a difference every day across Central Illinois.” Throughout her time in Congress, Budzinski has supported federal investments that create meaningful opportunities for older Americans to serve their communities, strengthen local organizations, and provide critical support to families and neighbors in Illinois. ### Share on
