May 18, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON D.C- Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) attended the “All Roads Lead to the South” Congressional Pilgrimage this past weekend in Montgomery, Alabama, joining lawmakers, civil rights leaders, and advocates in the continued fight to protect voting rights and fair representation for Black communities across the South. The pilgrimage comes as several Southern states continue efforts to redraw congressional districts in ways critics argue weaken the voting power of predominantly Black communities and reduce fair representation in Congress. “What we witnessed this weekend was the power of people coming together to confront injustice head on,” Rep. Horsford said. “The attacks we are seeing on Black voting power in the South should concern every single American because this is not just a Southern issue it is a threat to our democracy nationwide. We know what happens when communities are denied fair representation, and we cannot allow history to repeat itself. This pilgrimage was a reminder that the fight for voting rights did not end in Selma, and it does not end now.
