Gillibrand Statement On Becoming Ranking Member On Senate Aging Committee
Jan 2, 2025
Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement on becoming the ranking member on the Senate Aging Committee:
“I’m honored to have this opportunity to serve older Americans across New York and nationwide. More than 59 million Americans are aged 65 years and older, and that number will continue to rise in the coming years. It is absolutely essential that Congress leads the effort to invest in the well-being of our aging loved ones. I plan to continue my work fighting to bring down the cost of prescription drugs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, guarding against financial scams, and ensuring that every American can age with dignity and financial security.”
Senator Gillibrand has served on the Senate Aging Committee since 2009.
