Bean Hosts Northeast Florida Law Enforcement, Honors Heroes on House Floor in Celebration of National Police Week

May 15, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON —This National Police Week, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) hosted law enforcement officers from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office for a special U.S. Capitol tour in recognition of their unwavering commitment to protect and serve Northeast Florida. “We owe a debt to all law enforcement officers. These patriots bravely start their shifts to protect our communities without ever knowing if they’ll get back home safely. We all share in the rewards of their service, but it’s our officers who bear the burdens,” said Congressman Bean. “That’s why, during National Police Week, I want to say two words that our incredibly brave patriots don’t hear enough: thank you.” On Friday, Congressman Bean delivered remarks on the House Floor honoring the courage and sacrifice of the law enforcement community and reaffirming his commitment to always Back the Blue. BACKGROUND In celebration of National Police Week, House Republicans passed a series of bills to support and protect law enforcement: H.R. 6360, Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act H.R. 5635, Cashless Bail Reporting Act H.R. 8365, Monitor Accountability Act H. Con. Res 96, Expressing support for law enforcement officers Additionally, Congressman Bean understands that protecting those who protect us includes their four-legged partners. That’s why he introduced H.R. 4755, the Leo K9 Protection Act, to strengthen penalties for individuals who use a deadly weapon to harm a federal police dog or horse in the line of duty. ###
