Walberg Votes to Honor Charlie Kirk

Image September 19, 2025 Press Release Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) supported a resolution to honor the legacy of Charlie Kirk, condemn his assassination, recognize law enforcement and emergency personnel for their efforts to bring about justice, and call upon all Americans to reject political violence and recommit to respectful debate. The resolution, which Congressman Walberg cosponsored, passed the House by a vote of 310-58. "Charlie Kirk inspired thousands of students across the country to engage in honest and productive debate and instilled in them a passion for improving our great nation," said Rep Walberg. "Charlie’s vision and voice will continue to live on through generations of Americans who have been inspired to engage in meaningful conversations, ask difficult questions, and stand up for their convictions, regardless of their political affiliation. Attempts to silence individuals through violence are against our nation's foundational principles. We must come together as a nation to recommit to civil discourse and the free exchange of ideas."
