Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, The Farmer’s Daughters

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: The Farmer’s Daughters of Fremont County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa's 99 counties. “The Farmer’s Daughters has decorated southwest Iowa with success, growing from a pop-up shop into a thriving family business serving Iowans,” said Chair Ernst . “Whether helping customers find the perfect piece for their home or creating arrangements for life’s special moments, Stacy and Ron have made community service part of the perfect arrangement .” The Farmer’s Daughters began in 2014 when Stacy Burgoin-Burge started selling vintage finds and home décor through small antique pop-up shops at events including Vintage & Made Fair and Junkstock. As the business grew in popularity, Stacy opened a storefront in Sidney and expanded into floral arrangements in 2017. Stacy’s husband, Ron Burge, later joined the business full-time, and together they grew The Farmer’s Daughters to include additional locations in Glenwood and Shenandoah. Today, The Farmer’s Daughters offers carefully curated home décor, gifts, vintage items, locally made products, and personalized floral arrangements. The business also provides floral delivery and offers six- and twelve-month “Bloom of the Month” subscriptions featuring fresh flowers and custom designs. The Farmer’s Daughters gives back to southwest Iowa by supporting local fairs, youth programs, and educational initiatives. Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award. ###
