Blumenthal Statement on Peace Agreement Between Israel and Hamas

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement on a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas that would implement a ceasefire and return all remaining Israeli hostages to their families:
“I’m enormously hopeful that this agreement marks a real turning point towards peace. This agreement can literally save lives. The world is waiting breathlessly, ready to exhale when hostages are actually released. I commend all parties for this dogged pursuit of peace. My heart is with all who have endured unspeakable loss and sacrifice. My deep hope is that this agreement will lead to a permanent end to hostilities and a lasting peace for all Palestinians and Israelis.”
