Blumenthal Statement on Agreement to Keep Stamford VA Clinic Open

[Hartford, CT] –U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Ranking Member of the Senate Veteran Affairs Committee, released the following statement today following news that the Department of Veterans Affairs has reached an agreement with Summer Street Properties LLC to keep the Stamford VA Clinic open.
“I’m pleased that the Stamford VA clinic will continue to serve veterans at its present location, as a result of successful lease renewal discussions. I strongly encouraged the VA and property owner to reach agreement, along with other delegation members, because veterans from the Fairfield County area deserve and need a local source of VA healthcare. Although this lease is for only one year, I’ll continue to fight for a permanent location, meeting veteran healthcare needs,”Blumenthal said.
