Rep. Nancy Mace Helps Secure $5.9 Million Grant, Closing Funding Gap for New Lowcountry Workforce Training Center

(July 31, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today announced the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $5.9 million to the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) to support construction of the Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center at TCL's Bluffton New River Campus. The EDA grant closes the remaining funding gap for the $27.4 million, state-of-the-art facility, which will prepare Lowcountry residents for careers in advanced manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other high-demand industries. "Our Lowcountry economy depends on a skilled workforce," said Congresswoman Mace. "The Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center will equip students and workers with the training employers need while helping fill critical workforce shortages across our region.
