McConnell Meets With Doug Collins

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) issued the following statement today on his meeting with former U.S. Congressman Doug Collins, the nominee for U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs:
“We owe the brave men and women who have served our nation – including the more than 300,000 veterans who call Kentucky home – the best care and treatment available. After four years of gross mismanagement, I look forward to working with the President-elect’s nominee for Secretary of Veterans Affairs to improve accountability and refocus attention on fulfilling the VA’s sacred duty to empower our servicemembers when they return home. As a veteran himself and current Chaplain and Colonel in the Air Force Reserves, Mr. Collins will make an excellent advocate for our nation’s veterans and their families.”
