October 22, 2026 Press Release Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Stephanie Bice attended the recent expansion of the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport, which she helped secure $6 million in federal funding for. Read more below: The Cities of Guthrie and Edmond joined state and federal leaders at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport to celebrate the ribbon cutting of their new terminal expansion, marking a significant investment in the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport’s future and the region’s aviation infrastructure. The $7 million project includes a new approximately 5,500-square-foot terminal facility, nearly doubling the airport’s existing terminal space, along with approximately 150,000 square feet of additional aircraft parking apron. The expansion is designed to better accommodate based and visiting aircraft while enhancing the experience for pilots, passengers, businesses, and the broader community. The ceremony featured remarks from Congresswoman Stephanie Bice, Senator Chuck Hall, Representative Nicole Miller, Guthrie Mayor Adam Ropp, Edmond Mayor Mark Nash, and Grayson Ardies, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA). “It was an honor to join local leaders to celebrate the expansion of the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport,” said Congresswoman Stephanie Bice. “I was proud to secure the $6 million in federal funding for this project, which will double the terminal space, provide additional aircraft parking, and improve airport amenities. This is another great example of bringing taxpayer dollars back to Oklahoma to support the important work already being done in our communities.” The project was funded through a combination of $6 million in federal funding secured through a Community Project Funding request supported by Representative Bice, $500,000 from the State of Oklahoma through the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, and a combined $500,000 local investment, with the Cities of Guthrie and Edmond each contributing $250,000. The new terminal will offer a range of amenities designed to support aviation activity and create a welcoming destination for the public. Planned features include a restaurant serving airport visitors and the general public, an outdoor airside patio overlooking aircraft arrivals and departures, a conference room that will also serve as a public meeting space and aviation classroom, pilot offices, a 24-hour-access pilot lounge, and office space for fixed-base operator (FBO) and airport staff. “This new terminal is a great example of how investments in aviation infrastructure can support communities and strengthen Oklahoma’s aerospace industry,” said ODAA Executive Director Grayson Ardies. “By expanding facilities and creating more opportunities for aviation education, business, and general aviation activity, Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport is positioning itself to serve the region for many years to come.” The airport is home to a variety of aviation-related businesses, including flight schools, aircraft maintenance operations, composite aircraft-part manufacturing company Zivko Aeronautics, and a pipeline patrol company. Its 5,001-foot concrete runway can accommodate a wide range of business and general aviation aircraft, including business jets. Located near I-35 and outside the more congested airspace associated with Oklahoma City, the airport offers convenient access for business and general aviation operations. The terminal expansion also reflects the longstanding partnership between Guthrie and Edmond. The two cities have jointly sponsored and supported the regional airport since 2004, demonstrating a shared commitment to regional collaboration and economic opportunity. The new facility will serve as a front door to the region, welcoming visitors arriving for business, recreation, aviation activities, and other purposes while providing additional space for the airport’s continued growth.
